Alone on the Wall

Starting to enjoy this..

With weather all over the place it was a last minute decision to head out again.. I decided to head down to Winspit again to clip some bolts, I took George again as he is slowly catching the climbing bug and wanting to get more involved, we arrived at the crag and surprisingly most of the routes were dry, the weather wasn't great with strong winds but still OK to get something done.
We climbed a few lower grade routes that I hadn't been on before that were pretty cool to get the arms warmed up and free the forearms up a little, I wanted to jump on Avenging the Aswells but unfortunately the water running down the face stopped that, I decided to try and go for the onsight on the new 6c put up "First Dazes of summer". The climbing was pretty cool but I was unable to grab the onsight when I fell at the crux section, I had a little play and worked out the moves.. we were running out of time so we had to head off, but I'm pretty sure I will climb this tomorrow if weather is OK and I manage to get out again..

It was good to see George improving from last week and hopefully soon he can try is first lead climb. I didn't get any pictures of the climbing but below are a few shots experimenting with the camera on the walk out

Sun, Sun & Sun

Although things have been pretty flat out over the past weeks i was determined to get out and try get some climbing done,With the amazing weather over the past few days it was the perfect oppertunity to head out, i wasnt in the frame to push myself but more in just wanting to be outside and doing some casual climbing. I arranged to take my freind george who is a newbie to the climbing world, we decided to head to Winspit for some sport climbing and catch some of the sun and do some of the easier lines..
After teaching George how to belay we got to it, we climbed around six routes with the hardest being 6b+ so it was a pretty chilled day, it was good to see george trying is hardest and soon realising its not all about big muscles and having the perfect body. I felt good though and quite supriced at how much fun i had considering sport climbing isnt at the top of my list, but i had a good day and its put me in a mood to try and start getting stronger and tick some of the harder lines at the crag.. Lets hope weather stays good and we can get out again next weekend..
Climb if you will, but remember that courage and strength are
naught without prudence, and that a momentary negliance may destroy the happiness of a lifetime. Do nothing in haste; Look well to each step; and from the beginning think what may be the end
